Fall Must-Haves For Your Closet

Hey y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a great start to this new season! This weekend was nice and relaxing and I cannot wait for the weather to get a little cooler!

In honor of the first week of Fall, I have created a month’s worth of posts to make sure that you {+ your wardrobe} are ready for this season!!

So let’s get started with today’s post! I will tag at least three options per item and they’ll be across different price ranges. 🙂

  • Corduroy: Corduroy, I’ll admit, isn’t my favorite material by any means but for those Fall days that are a little chillier, I’d rather be wearing cord’s than a thinner pair of jeggings. Plus, this material looks good in blush, olive, navy, or any other color honestly. And if you don’t want to do “pants” there are also a ton of skirt options in this same material as well.  So for your options….. here are a couple I have found that I want to add to my closet ASAP!!! Some are a little more on the affordable side and some are splurges so depending on how much you love Corduroy and how often you’d actually wear these, take that into account.

    • Corduroy Button Up Dress from Dress Up: $42.99 and comes in sizes (S, M, L) as well as in colors Black, Red and Navy. Dress is linked here.
      • Another one of my favorites is linked here but is only available in M or L.
    • Corduroy Pants from Loft: $69.50 and comes in sizes (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34) there are also 2 fit options and 4 size types (plus, regular, petite and tall)  linked here.  Also comes in other colors based on the site’s availability.
  • Booties: Let’s be real, full fledged riding boots can get a little hot when it’s still pretty warm outside. Booties give you that “fall look” without making you sweat. I like booties that are a little more on the “neutral” side just because they go with more and you can use them for several different outfits without worrying if something matches or not.  Booties can be worn with jeans, pants, skirts, dresses and honestly whatever you want. So if the weather around you is going to remain hot as Hades for awhile, you may want to wear them with something cooler like a dress or a skirt. Booties aren’t really going anywhere anytime soon and they become more and more popular by the year so if you get some this year, chances are if you take care of those same pair, they’ll still be on trend for the next fall season and beyond.

    • Korks Ankle Booties from Nordstrom Rack: $79.97. comes in brown and sizes ( 5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 11, 12) and are linked here.
  • Cardigans: I love Cardigans! I could live in these in Fall since it is the perfect layering piece. Some are over-sized, some fit  more tailored and some fit longer so it gives you a way to add a third element to your outfit without trying to hard or adding a piece that doesn’t really fit.  Some of these options I’ll drop here are a little more on the trendy side and some will be a little more versatile. Just want to give everyone a look they like.

    • Belted Open Front Cardigan from Target: $24.99 and comes in sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL) as well as in colors Olive, Pink, Black or Berry and is linked here.
    • Also just going to put this out there as well but some of my best cardigan finds have been from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s.
  • Vests: Vests are another one of those pieces that are nice for layering and don’t make you sweat by mid morning! I have a couple different ones I’ve picked up over the years and I have worn them countless times. Some are from boutiques, some come from main stores, and some I probably found at TJ Maxx. There’s so many ways to incorporate a vest into your closet and it doesn’t have to be chunky or feel heavy to make you look a little more put together.
    • Monogrammed Vest from Marley Lilly: Currently on Sale for $40 and comes in (toddler, youth and adult) sizes as well as color options of white or black (this one is a herringbone pattern) — linked here.
    • Quilted Puffer Vest from J. Crew Factory: $59.50 and comes in sizes (xx-small, x-small, small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large, 2x and 3x) and colors Navy, Black, and Deep Moss. Linked here.
    • Buffalo Check Vest from Dress Up: $38.99 and is currently only available in Large online. Linked it here.
  • Animal Print (Leopard + Cheetah): Animal Print is so versatile so even if you don’t want to wear a dress entirely patterned with Cheetah print you can put little pieces here and there that will stand out and not be overwhelming. Leopard and Cheetah are major for this Fall and can be worn from head to toe in small doses (or big doses if you’re obsessed with it!). For these options I’ll post more than I have for the past few since there are so many ways you can wear this print.
    • Leopard Slides from Dress Up: $22.99 and is available in sizes (5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, and 10) // (is also available in Mauve if you’re interested!!) Both are linked here.
    • Cheetah Midi Dress from Dress Up: $39.99 and is available in sizes (S, M, L) and is perfect for someone who wants to be in head-to-toe cheetah! I will say I tried this on in-store and even though I chose some different options, it was super flattering! Dress is linked here.
    • Leopard Belt from Target: $16.99 and comes in sizes (S, M, L and XL) — this piece will literally go with anything and isn’t overdone! Belt linked here.
    • Leopard Flare Dress from Loft: $79.50 and is perfect for work! This option is a lot more subtle than the other dress option I linked above! Comes in sizes (00, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 as well as options Regular, Petite and Tall). Dress is linked here.
    • Block Heel Ankle Boots from Loft: $118 and comes in sizes (5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5 and 11) // these boots are also available in just a solid black or olive if you’re interested and the color for the leopard print is called “Fresh Caramel.” These are linked here.
    • Animal Print Romper in Black and Beige from Pink Lily Boutique: $46 and comes in sizes (S, M, L). This option is linked here.
    • Leopard Print Booties from Pink Lily Boutique: $48 and available in sizes (6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 10) and these are linked here.
  • Knit Sweaters: These are probably my favorite things ever because they are so comfortable and they just hang perfectly without you having to do anything specifically to style them! They’re easy “throw on and go” pieces and majority of the ones you’ll find will come in several colors. Most of these options will be from boutiques (but you can order from out of state!)
    • Knit Sweater at Dress Up: $39.99, however some colors and sizes are sold out online like the Olive, and Ivory but the Purple and Rose are still in stock in Medium/Large. Linked here. Not sure if Dress Up will restock these but check online and see or you can message them on social media or call to see if they have a specific one in store.
    • Knit Sweater at Lizard Thicket: $44.50 and comes in sizes (S, M, L) and also comes in colors Pink and White. Both are linked on their color.
    • Knit Sweater from Boho Bus: $40 and comes in sizes ( small/medium or medium/large) and in colors Rust or Mint. Both are linked here.
  • Leggings: Okay, yeah I know this was a given but y’all, I have found my favorite leggings of all time and I just can’t get over how they wash and wear as well as their color does not fade! Your black leggings will stay black! For this bullet, I’m going to give the Spanx option, a Loft Outlet option (which is my personal favorite) and then a Target dupe. I’ve heard great things about Spanx but being at the age I am, the price tag is a little much for me (not that I wouldn’t wear them every day of my life but ya know…).
    • Spanx Leggings: $98 but prices vary based on what you might be looking for as well. The one linked here is the Essential Leggings and comes in sizes ( XS, S, M, L, XL) and then in colors Steel and Very Black.
    • Loft Outlet Leggings: Regularly $29.99 but are currently on sale for $17.99!! These are my absolute favorite and come in sizes ( XS, S, M, L, and XL) and in colors Black, Industrial Navy and Plum Fade. Leggings linked here.
    • Target Leggings: $14.99 and available in sizes ( xxs, xs, s, m, l, xl, and xxl) and comes in colors Grey and Black. Both options are linked here.
  • Skirts: I have found some of my favorite skirts in the Fall and/or Winter months. I like the simplicity and the colors they come in more in the Fall and Winter I think. With skirts, you can get one with a heavy pattern on it and then dress up a t-shirt or dress up from head-to-toe.  Skirts can also be worn with riding boots, booties, heels, sandals or flats, so they are perfect for even transition periods in weather!
    • Wool Skirt from J. Crew Factory: $29.50 and comes in sizes (00, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20) but they are currently sold out of sizes 00, 0 and 2 online. The color for this one is perfect! I bought mine a few years back and it has stayed in great shape and I can wear it with anything! Linked here.
    • Embroidered Front Skirt from Francesca’s: $44 and comes in sizes (S, M, and L). Skirt linked here.
    • Faux Suede Skirt from Francesca’s: $44 and comes in sizes (S, M, and L). Skirt is linked here.
    • Camo Skirt from Pink Lily Boutique: $44 and comes in sizes (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11). Skirt linked here.
    • Wine Suede Skirt from Pink Lily Boutique: $38 and comes in sizes (S, M, and L), linked here.  Similar options available in Beige, Olive and Black.
  • Heels: Heels go year round but some styles are just a little more on trend than others. For this one since it is so broad I just linked three of my favorites down below that I think will go with the most in my personal closet. The ones I linked below are all black just because you can see the shape of the shoe and what you may want to look for in stores.
    • Whitney Heels from Pink Lily Boutique: $42 and is currently sold out in some sizes. Sizes currently available are: (6, 9 and 10). This style is linked here. Overall, strappy heels look really good in fall and you can switch up what you wear them with too.
    • Open Toe Bootie Look Alike Heels from Altar’d State: $69.95 and comes in sizes (6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 10). Linked here.
    • Scalloped Trim Heels from JCPenney: $29.99 and currently on sale from $55. Comes in sizes: (5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, and 11). This one specifically comes in other colors too (black, red, white, pink and gold). Shoes linked here.
  • Bralette: Okay, that Free People Bralette everyone is berserk about is $38 which isn’t awful but I’ve found it for less other places as well. These bralettes look extremely similar and come in several colors too! I’m sure you’ve seen them by now since everyone has been wearing them recently from my friend group to bloggers I follow! They’re huge right now for the trend and I like that I can wear it with so many different outfits too. For this bullet point, I did add the Free People one but I also added some other options that I found from other boutiques and places I shop for less or right around the same price point!
    • FP One Adella Bralette from Free People: $38 and comes in sizes (XS, S, M and L) and in colors: Mocha, Orchid Crush, White, Peach Fog, Black, Copper, Nude, Salmon, Stone, Ballet and Pink. This bralette linked here.
      • The three options below are all the exact same one just more color options.
    • Lace Trim Bralette from Dress Up: $28.99 and comes in sizes (S, M, and L). They are currently sold out of colors Ivory, Black and Taupe but may restock or they may have the same ones in store. Check to see if you’re close here and the bralette link is here.
    • Lace Criss Cross Bralette from Lizard Thicket: $28.50 and comes in Ivory, Blue, Brick, Burgundy and Charcoal. All are linked under their color and come in sizes (S, M or L).
